We all had a diary as little girls and teenagers. The place where we write our inner most thoughts, secrets and all about the boy who was giving us butterflies. As we got older we more than likely abandoned that diary and probably have no clue where it is now. Well I don’t know about ya’ll but I need a diary now more than ever. I have so many thoughts daily and I am getting to a place where I don’t even like confiding in people for real. Lately I’ve learned that when I confide in people one of the following things is true
- They don’t care
- They only want me to confide in them so they can tell somebody else my business
- They are secretly happy something in my life is going wrong (misery loves company, but that’s a blog post for another day)
- They aren’t truly listening.
So, ya’ll know what we gone do tonight?………
We are going to write in our diaries. That’s right hooches, get a notebook and cute pen…..we channeling our inner Moesha
Tonight I challenge you all to get comfortable in you bed, put your phone down and truly focus and fill in the prompt below. Do this each night for a week, two weeks, or a month; however long you’d like. Then go back and compare each entry to see how they change over time.
- When was the last time you invested in yourself? How did you invest?
- What is a goal you had for 2020? Have you met it yet? Will you reach it before 2020 ends?
- What blessing has occurred during the pandemic for you?
- How do you plan to make the most of the remainder of 2020?
- What triggers you in life? Why? How do you identify these triggers?
- What affirmations do you speak into yourself? How often?
- What are 5 goals you have for yourself in the next year? 5 years? 10 years?
- Do you feel the people you have around you are solid and intentional? If not, why?
- How are you? How would you truthfully describe yourself?
These are checkpoints to make sure you do not grow stagnant. Great things never come from comfort zones. Be able to check yourself, be honest and be intentional with your personal growth.
I hope at least one of you gain something from answering the questions above. That’s all I have for ya’ll this time….see ya’ll in 2 weeks for another post.
XOXO – Junie
